Be Gentle

Being gentle... Sophia and I often remind each other and others to be gentle. It is a short hand phase for this... It has been our experience that we beat ourselves up (figuratively as well as literally) more than anyone else. We also have found it easy to get in a cycle of lament, fear, regret, or sadness. Often however this is just a habit of the mind, and sometimes a habit of the body. If we give ourselves permission not to lament, regret, or critique then we can change how we feel mentally, emotionally, and physically. (None of this of course is to discount the importance of therapy and medicines a doctor might describe; it is meant to complement.)

Do you have an air of seriousness or sadness about you? Are you in mourning (not just for the death of a loved one but for any tender loss)? It is important to feel those feelings, it is also OK to sometimes feel happy and hopeful. Being gentle is a way of giving yourself a break, rather like Reiki is a way of being peaceful. There are lots of ways to BE. Sometimes we forget to be gentle or happy or whatever...

It is hard to explain all this succinctly and gently in a blog. I hope I have perhaps nudged you into a moment of pause, of gentleness, of the peace of Reiki flowing.

Peace and blessings, Grace
